You’ll work as part of our training academy team delivering courses online to clients and students.

The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for managing all aspects of automation environment, security and software installation for our clients.

Deploying automation requires the design, set-up and ongoing maintenance of appropriate infrastructure environments via on premise and cloud based solutions.

You’ll work as part of our service delivery team advising and collaborating with client technology teams to ensure infrastructures are properly designed and implemented as part of the ongoing automation programme.

What’s the profile of an automation specialist?

The Service Automation Specialist is a key role supporting our client services at Lawrence & Wedlock, covering the end-to-end automation lifecycle, including assessing, defining, building, deploying and supporting robotic process and cognitive automation solutions.

This multi-disciplined role has responsibility for designing, developing, delivering and supporting automated processes, working as part of our client services delivery team.

  • Certification in or experience using any RPA platforms (UiPath, AA, BP, etc.)

  • Ability to blend business analysis with hands-on configuration of processes
  • Learn quickly and apply theoretical exercises to practical use cases
  • Good communication skills with the ability to present technical details to a non-technical audience
  • Good written skills with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation for use by colleagues and clients
  • Work with a structured and methodical approach and an inquisitive mind
  • Understanding of formal change control procedures and discipline
  • Aptitude for problem solving, with the ability to track a logical route to the source of an error
  • A self-starter who delivers high quality work and can adapt to new challenges, either on their own or as part of a team
  • Good time management skills to self-organise and optimise your time

A typical day as an automation specialist at Lawrence & Wedlock could include any combination of the following:

  • Attend or lead process candidate discovery meetings with clients to assess feasibility and suitability for automation
  • Help define and document accurate current state processes to keystroke level detail in collaboration with client SMEs
  • Help design future state automated process solutions ready for development
  • Develop process automation workflows and perform unit, integration and user testing successfully, helping to define test scenarios and test data as required
  • Help implement and maintain the client automation governance framework
  • Support the process to design and set-up client infrastructure and architecture environments
  • Develop and configure reusable automation commodities for the company and client libraries
